Monkle's 'real' name is 'Mike' he started calling himself Monkle early this academic year and we soon came to realise that the name was far more appropriate.  Is Monkle a human?  Is he a monkey?  My personal opinion is that he is a hitherto unknown form of primate, neither human nor monkey, but monkle.  And yes, he can shoot beams of light from his eyes, but only when drunk.
