Here is an Elliott Clock Catalogue with price list. Remember that an Omega Speedmaster cost about $320, and a Rolex President cost about $1850 in 1974, so you could take the prices you find in this catalogue and multiply by ten to twenty times, in order to estimate what a comparable Elliott clock would cost in 2024!
I would like to thank Ben Fulghum for sharing this catalogue. |
The most commonly used platform was the 7 jewel l'Épée platform, like this one from the late 1960s. Elliott clocks with this platform keep very accurate time. |
This 7 jewel l'Épée platform is from about 1980. |
Here is a Smiths ABEC platform from around 1950. These were used in Elliott clocks when they could not get enough l'Épée escapements, and are probably quite scarce. |
The last platform is from the 1980s, a l'Épée with a hairspring on the escape wheel, acting somewhat like a buffer to make the ticking much quieter, and is probably also quite scarce. |
The last platform is mounted onto a movement that provides time only, which are more common than the chiming clocks, because the chiming clocks were even more expensive. |
The case is heavy, made of green onyx stone in Belgium. |
The original movement in the Elliott clock below, from the 1950s, was badly damaged, so this is a replacement movement with the hammer assembly and several other parts taken from the original movement. Otherwise, this movement looks like a typical Elliott chiming clock with two chimes, Westminster and Whittington. The original dust cover over the escapement platform was missing, so this platform has a dust cover made from a business card. |
