Vintage Rolex
This Rolex 1030 is from about 1963 and arguably of similar quality to the Omega Constellation 551 on the preceding page. Both have unjeweled automatic rotors and blue hairsprings. The Rolex 1030 has a standard regulator, (not having the Microstellar adjustment screws), but it is still an officially certified Swiss chronometer. In the photos on the next page, you can see how the 1500 series Rolex mechanism was based on the 1000 series mechanism. The issue with vintage Rolex watches today is the lack of replacement parts available.
