Mission Statement:

A Mia Maid becomes a Young Woman of Promise as she honors
her baptisimal covenant to keep God's commandments, to
receive his blessings, and to have his Spirit to be with
her as she builds a loving relationship with her Heavenly
Father and those around her.

An open book of scriptures represents the word of God.

"And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters."--Mosiah 5:7

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."--Matthew 22:37-39

The MIA stands for Mututal Improvement Asscociation. This was what the
Young Women's program was orginally called when founded in the late 1800's.
