The day is fast approaching, when our dear SisFortunateOne
departs for Russia. Here is a filk for her to hum on
the extraordinarily long plane ride. I have no idea if
Mandy is even able to access the list from wherever she
is right now. But am I letting that stop me? Heck, no.

The tune is "The Yellow Rose of Texas," a traditional
folk song adapted by Don George, for Mitch Miller and
the Gang, circa 1955. My apologies to the Abbey's
Texan contingent.

The Shoeless Cornless Wonder
--An Ode to SisFortunateOne

There's a little nun from Cali that I oh so long to see
No other nun is like her, not in the whole Abbey,
I'll cry so when she leaves us, my heart will surely break
It will make Post Fest Disorder seem like a piece of cake

CHORUS:
She's the sweetest little Stompstress that the Abbey's ever known,
Her hair is dark and curly, it has a mind all of its own
You may talk dirty of the Beadslut and sing of Kirby Dee
But the happy little Stompstress is the only nun for me

(brief musical interlude)

Where the Volga River's flowing and Stalin's corpse does lay
She'll walk along the river on a lovely Russian day
I know that she'll remember when she left us long before
She'd better promise to return and stomp for us once more

 CHORUS

(brief musical interlude)

Oh, how I'm going to miss her, my heart is soaked with woe
I'll miss the nights of chat where we played oh so long ago
I'll sing <insert Indigo Girls song title here> daily,
she will hear me from afar
As I implore St. Scully to return SisF1 safely from the Land of Czars!

CHORUS

(instrumental and "la-la" scat to end)
