Hoosiers Remember
Hoosiers Remember is comprised of a large group of victimized family members of traumatic death.

Groww
GROWW is a haven for the bereaved developed by the bereaved. They have message boards, resource listings and secure chat rooms hosted by the most loving people on the internet for all who are grieving.

Compassionate Friends
The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization which offers friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause. There is no religious affiliation. There are no membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome.

Pen Parents
If you have suffered the death of a child, you needn't grieve alone. Pen-Parents is here to help. Pen-Parents is a specially designed support network of grieving parents who have experienced pregnancy loss or the death of a child(ren) through adulthood. We provide an opportunity for bereaved parents to talk about their child(ren) through a pen-pal type service by networking them with others in similar situations.

Delphi
Delphi is a group of free online forums created and controlled by a group. Two groups I highly suggest are Grieving Moms and Pen Parents.

ONElist
ONElist is a free email community service. The ONElist service empowers you to explore and create email communities where you can share views, ideas, and common interests with others. I recommend the "Grieving Parents" community, I have found several new friends here.

This memorial site is beautifully done. It is the memorial site of my cousin Karl who like so many other unfortunate people lost their life trying to overcome alcoholism.

This memorial site is beautifully done and really touched my heart due to the similarities in both Joey's and Michael's accidents.

Victim Rights Organizations

Parents of Murdered Children
POMC is the only national helping organization which is specifically for the survivors of homicide victims.

NOVA
The National Organization for Victim Assistance is a private non-profit organization of victim and witness assistance programs, criminal justice agencies and professionals, mental health professionals, researchers, former victims and survivors, and others committed to the recognition and implementation of victim rights and services.

National Center for Victims of Crime
The mission of the National Center for Victims of Crime is to forge a national commitment to help victims of crime rebuild their lives.

DOVE
"Dignity Of Victims Everywhere" is an online nonprofit organization in Western Washington State. They are dedicated to serving victims of violent crime everywhere. Their mission statement is simply a two word thesis: " VICTIMS FIRST ".

Justice For All
JUSTICE FOR ALL is a Criminal Justice Reform Organization. They act as an advocate for change in a criminal justice system that is inadequate in protecting the lives and property of law abiding citizens.

Bicycle Safety Websites

Bicycle Helmet Safety Institue
This is one of my favorite sites. You can find virtually any information about Bicycle Safety here. They are the helmet advocacy program of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association. They are a small, active, non-profit consumer-funded program acting as a clearinghouse and a technical resource for bicycle helmet information. They provide a documentation service and a number of helmet publications.

International Bicycle Organization
The International Bicycle Fund is a non-governmental, nonprofit organization, promoting sustainable transport and international understanding.

Snell Memorial Foundation
The Snell Memorial Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to research, education, testing and development of helmet safety standards. Since its founding in 1957, Snell has been a leader in the frontier of helmet safety in the United States and around the world.

Illinois State Bicycle Safety Center
This is the State of Illinois Bicycle Safety Webpage. Alot of information can be found here about bicycle safety.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
This site is directed toward children. Here they can play games while learning about all different types of safety issues.

World Health Organization Helmet Initiative
WHO is a worldwide program whose effort is to prevent head injury by promoting the use of helmets for transportation and recreation use.

National Safe Kids
The National SAFE KIDS Campaign’s mission is to prevent the number one killer of children — unintentional injury. By working at a national level through grassroots Coalitions they educate adults and children, provide safety devices to families in need, pass and strengthen laws to empower families and communities to protect children ages 14 and under.
