Anatomy of a simple tigertail necklace

How to Make a Simple Tigertail Necklace

Materials needed:
Tigertail
Beads (e.g. seed beads, etc.)
Clasp
2 Bead Crimps
Needle-nose pliers
Wire cutters or nail clippers

1. Using wire cutters or nail clippers, cut the tigertail to the desired length plus 3 inches.
2. Thread a bead crimp onto the tigertail, then unscrew the clasp and thread the clasp half onto the tigertail, then thread the tigertail back into the bead crimp.

3. Push the bead crimp towards the clasp, but leave the loop in the tigertail a little loose so that the clasp is free to move around. Grasp your pliers and squeeze the bead crimp hard. This should hold the clasp in place.
4. Thread the desired beads onto the tigertail, using the beads to cover up the end of the tigertail.
5. Use the same technique starting the necklace to end the necklace, this time using the other half of the clasp and the second bead crimp.
** You don't have to make necklaces; you can also make bracelets and anklets with this simple technique. Don't forget to experiment with different beads to create that perfect look.

Adding Dangles Using Headpins

Headpins are long, skinny pieces of metal which can be used to make dangles on necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. You can find them at any craft store.
1. Grasp the skinny end of the headpin with pliers. In one quick motion, twist the end away from you to form a loop.

2. Adjust the position of the loop with the pliers.

3. Clip off the head on other end of the headpin with wire cutters.
4. String on the desired beads.
5. Use steps 1 and 2 to finish off the other end of the headpin. String the second loop onto your necklace.
