ANGELGENIC (Your Wings)

I feel so foolish
All I had to do
Was take a picture of you
Then take a pencil
And draw in the wings
That are supposed to be there
Behind your back.
Because I'm certain
That you are really
An Angel in disguise.
That will explain why
You are so beautiful

I could have sworn
That I saw an Angel.

So foolish
A camera would have
Pick up that halo.
Only an Angel appears
And makes an impression
On a mortal as myself,
Then just disappear from
Out of this world,
Then reappear again.
Only Angels are so sweet
and shy, and sensitive.
What else could have
Drawn me toward you
so easily.

I could have sworn
That I saw an Angel.
I feel stupid,
I should have
Taken a picture
Of you
Then the film would
Revealed your true identity.
With the wings on
Your shoulder blades.
Only Angels are so
Beautiful and Radiant.
With a gentle smile
On a pretty face.
And graceful figure.

I could swear that you are
An Angel
And you don't really
need to walk
'cause you could fly.
