Machine Again

Baby
You make me feel
Like a machine again
Like I once was before
Grinding, turning, shifting and pumping.
Working like the machine I once was before.

My insides turn,
Gears rotate and move
Like the machine I once was before.
Like a locomotive
Engines steaming and grinding
Fully operational
Like the machine I once was before.

Knots, bolts and chips.
Mechanical arms and legs,
Systems functional
Joints freshly oiled and loose
Updated and adaptable
Like the machine I once was before.

Now that society
Thrives on science and technology
I am the perfect machine
Like I once was before.
High surveillance and buzzing cameras,
Satellites, robots and cyborgs surround us.
Cyberpunks, street peddlers and hovercrafts
All packed neatly together
Transforming us to the
Machines we once were before.

Our only escape
Is to move in synchrony
Forget our troubles
In this cold society
Now intricately engineered
By science and technology
And move like the machines we once were before.

I was a machine before
Now I'm a machine again.
But this time living and breathing
Consciously
Like the machine I once was before.
