Moon's name in Japanese Translates to Tsukino Usagi (in Japan last names are said first) Which means "Rabbit of the moon" (Usagi-Rabbit, no-possesive noun, Tsuki-moon) In Japan there is a legend that there is a rabbit that lives on the moon and makes Mochi, a rice treat.

Tux's Name is Chiba Mamoru, which means "Protector of earth" (Chi-earth, Mamoru-Protector) So in a way Tux kinda IS the sailor Earth in the anime
