Broken Hearts
AJ Angel
Angela was in a barne looking land. The sky was blood red, the ground
was black, and her
color was off. The first thing that came to mind was that this was
a dream as a harsh wind
blew over her, stiring up dust. She followed the dust and saw a familar
looking figure. She
loked closer and saw that it was Panthro. Suddenly, she was filled
with thsi dread and
something told she had to go to him. But when she tried to get closer
he would move further
away. Angela looked at this confussed.
"Panthro!" she shouts, but he doesn't seemto hear her. He just stands
there, looking at her
as if waiting for something. But she can't see his face clearly enough.
But he has this look
of pain on his face. He's not physicaly hurt but it's an emotional
pain. Angela can feel this
and tries to go to him once more, breaking into a dash.
Angela wakes at this point, her wind up Eternal Sailor Moon alarm clock
ringing loudly.
Angela is startled by this and bolts right up in bed. She vividly rmebers
the dream as the
clock still rings and vibrates right off the side table. When it clatters
to the floor,
Angela is brought out of her trance and she gets out of bed to grab
the clock to turn it off.
'Something is goign to happen today. I can feel it in my blood,' she
thought, biting her
thumb nail as she looked out the window.
Angela and Sophia both went over to the Lair that day. Angela had to
see for herself if
Panthro was okay...and he was.
"See, everything is allright," Sophia said.
"I guess," Angela said, but she still had this foreboding feeling.
Later, Angel arrived
on 3rd Earth. She appeared inside the Lair this time and with no fancy
entrance. Everyone
could tell that she was agitated. Angela imeditally sat her down.
"What's wrong?" Angela asked.
"I had this dream that you and Panthro were in trouble and I couldn't
help," Angel said. Angela's eye went wide and she looked at Sophia. It
was then that Lion-o called a counsel meeting, and invited the three girls
to it. He annouced that it was time to return to New Thundera and help
the refuges going there. This perked the interest of the three girls as
Lion-o told everyone who woudl stay and would go. When Lion-o said
that Panthro would be
leaving, he and Angela looked at each other. Time to talk, was what
the look said.
The two were alone in the room after the meeting, everyone knew that
two had to talk
and thought it best to let them chat alone for now.
"I can't believe this...we're going to be seperated," Angela said numbly.
"We don't have to. You can come with us," Panthro said. Angela nodded.
"I'm bound to this planet until another person is chossen to take my
place," Angela
said.
"Would you losse all your powers...and life then?" Panthro asked. Angela's
face was
knotted up in thought.
"I don't know...they never told me," Angela said.
"Then I'll stay. I can ask Lion-O..."
"You're going to be needed the most on New Thundera," Angela said.
"Can't you just teleport me to and from there?"
"I never sent a person that far before...I don't want to risk dropping
you off in
space..." Angela trailed off as a pretty picture was painted in her
mind of Panthro
appearing in space,
dying of suffication or burning up in some planet's atmosphere. She
shivered at this.
Panthro
sighed at this.
"Then we can try a long distance relation ship," Panthro said. Angela's
face was knitted
in worry now.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"Have you ever heard of one ever working?" Angela asked. Panthro thought
about this and
shook his head.
"I think we should cool down for awhile and see how this works out,"
Angela said.
"Why do you sya that?" Panthro asked. Angela took a breath and told
him about the dream.
At the end, Panthro was silent.
"I don't want to hurt you..." Angela finally said, breaking the silence.
"I understand...let's made this a day to remember before I go though...ok?"
Panthro asked.
Angela smiled and nodded.
It doesn't matter what I want
It doesn't matter what I need
It doesn't matter if I cry
Don't matter if I bleed
You've been on a road
Don't know where it goes or where it leads
Angela, Sophia, and Angel helped to get things ready for those leaving.
With help from the
three girls, Panthro and Angela had some time to spend alone before
leaving. The news had
slowly spread among everyone about the outcome of the talk. They went
to various palces on
3rd Earth for one last adventure together. Visting the Unicorn Forest,
trying to break the silence in the Forest of Silence, helping various people
along the way, etc. The memeory
of this day would not escape their minds for days to come.
It doesn't matter what I want
It doesn't matter what I need
If you've made up your mind to go
I won't beg you to stay
You've been in a cage
Throw you to the wind you fly away
Everyone stood outside Cat's Lair. The time had finally come for the
group of Thundercats
to leave. Everyone began the rounds of goodbyes and well wishes. The
two who took the
longest were Angela and Panthro. And when they parted, things began
to move in slow motion
for them both, as they could hear each other's heart beats. Angela
held her hands near her
chest as she watched them abord the ship and it seemed like forever
while they got the
systems ready. Finally, the engines roared and the ship took off. As
it rose higher in the
sky, Angela's heart sank lower and she collasped.
"Angela!" Sophia shouted and dashed over to her.
It doesn't matter what I want
It doesn't matter what I need
It doesn't matter if I cry
Don't matter if I bleed
Feel the sting of tears
Falling on this face you've loved for years
Angela wept her broken heart out. She had been so strong all this thsi
time that she
failed to watch her own emotions. Now she was feeling them and knew
what the dream was
really about. Sophia and Angel embraced her and allowed her to cry.
While up in the sky,
Panthro had looked back and saw what had happened. What no one saw
was a tear falling as
his own heart broke.
