Now, we all shold know by now that I don't own the Thundercats. But for those of you who
don't, here's a nice little disclaimer for you:

I do solemly swear that the Thundercats don't belong to me. They are legal property of
Rakin Bass and Lorimar. They are just on loan for the sake of the story and will be
returned once their pupose has been served. Also, this is story is not for sale in any
way and is meant to be read by everyone for free.

Eye of the Chameleon
AJ Angel

It had been a month or so since the most the Thundercats left for New Thundera. Angela was
in the planet filled living room, mooping around and sighing sadly. Sophia looked on at this
with concern as she dusted the dark hardwood furniture of the room.
"What's wrong?" Sophia asked.
"I haven't heard a thing from Panthro," Angela grumbled. Sophia rasied an eyebrow at this.
"You're joking," she said. Angela shook her head.
"I wish I were. He hasn't even sent so much as a letter," Angela said. Sophia frowns at this
and decides that she's going to have to step in and help. Sophia puts the dust rag away and begins to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" Angela asked.
"Out," Sophia said as she left the room. Angela thought about this and gasped.
"Oh gods no," Angela moaned as she scrambled to get out of the big easy chair she was in,
but it was very fluffy and people tend to sink into it. So she had to peal herself out of
the chair and try not to fall flat on her face in the process. Which she nearly did by
tripping over her own feet.
Outside, Sophia walked to an area of the woods she knew there was a portal. With a quick
chant, she easily opened it and walked right in. Angela got there just as the portal closed behind her. Angela stopped in place when she saw that and knew it was too late now to stop
Sophia. She had been so wound up in her sorrow that she had forgotten that Sophia could
leave the planet when ever she wanted...and it looked as if Sophia was taking things in her
own hands now. And Angela's mind reeled at what Sophia might say or do.

Mummra's new Black Pyramid on New Thundera
Mummra was brewing up more trouble for the Thundercats...again. In the cauldron appeared
the image of a reptialian like mutant. He didn't look anythng like the others we have seen.
You can say he's more athletic looking but has the looks of an chalmeleon. With hsi own chants,
Mummra brings him to his crypt with help from the Ancient Spirts of Evil (or ASOE).
Lighting fills the sky and the ceiling of the tomb as winds swirl and the mutant is brought
to the crypt.
"You called for me, Mummra?" he asked. Now that he stands before us, we sees that he wears
an simple outfit of leather boots, brown pants, and a green tunic like shirt with a tan
colored colar.
"Yes I did Cassius. I have a little job for you," Mummra said.
"And what would you like me kill this time?" Cassius asked. Mummra laughed lightly at this.
"No one. But I need you to do an...inside job for me," Mummra said and showed Cassius
the new Lair on New Thundera.
"I need you to get inside this place and destroy their systems that control the weapons and alrams,' Mummra said. Cassius put on this look of deep thought.
"Where do I begin?" he asked. A grin spread on Mummra's face.

Cat's Lair, New Thundera
It was a quiet peacfull morning in the Lair. Things had been going quiet nicely lately.
Mummra was laying low and the Thunderacats were liking this very much. Panthro was on watch
when Sophia appeared outside the lair.
"In in blue blazes..." he started and watche dher storm into up to the Lair. He suddenly
got a very bad feleing. Down stairs, Sophai was greeted by Wiley Kit and Wiley Kat.
"Sophia!" Kat said surpised.
"What are You doig here?" Kit asked. Sophia smiled confidnetly.
"While Angela is bound to the planet, I have the freedom to leave 3rd Earth. Now will you
help me find Panthro?" Sophai asked.
"Sure, follow us," Kit said and the twins took her up to observations. There, Lion-O was
talking with Panthro and was as surprised as the twins to see Sophia.
"Sophia?" he asked. Sophia looked right at Panthro and was about to say some thing when
the comuniactions went wild. The Thundercats jumped right on it and found that a new ship of
refugees were going to land soon.
"Can you help us with this one Sophia?" Lion-o asked. Sophai raised her eyebrows at this.
"You need my help?" she asked.
"Yes. Please."
"Sure. Let's go," Sophia said, knowing she would have to wait to talk with Panthro when they
got back. Lion-o led her out of observations and Panthro let out a sigh of relief.
"What's wrong Panthro?" Kit asked.
"Nothing," he quickly said, knowing very well that Sophia wasn't ahppy about something and
was going to talk directly to HIM about it.

Sophia road along in the new Thundertank. The ship was going to land quite aways from the
Lair and they needed to get there fast. From what they could gather, something was wrong with
the guidance systems.While she sat in the back, she began to think about what she was doing
and what she would say. Maybe this was better to breath and thik before saying anything. Soon,
they reached the spot where the small ship would land and they all jumped out.
"Look!" someone shouted and Sophia looked up to see the ship was out of control. She
held up both her hands and concentrated her powers to steady the ship and guide it to the
ground. Everyone let out a sighof releif when it landed safly on the ground. Sophia opened
her eyes just as the door opened and the small group of refugees came out. It appeard that
there were six Thunderians. Four adults and two children. What really caught her attention
was that one of the children was a snow leopard...and there were no other snow leopards in
the group.
The snow leopard boy could feel her eyes on him and looked in her direction. They two looked
at each other for momnet before the others brought them back to reality. Sophia helped with
the lugage, using her magic to move the heavier stuff, with the aid of some portals, to the
Lair. The refuguees watched this in awe and began to wonder about this girl. On the way back
in the tank, Sophia fianlly got to speak with the snow leopard boy.
"Hi," she said to him with a smile. He looked at her, inocently enough but almost as if he
was sizing her up.
"Hello," he said back.
"I'm Sophia. Who are you?"
"Leonard." After that, the two began to freely talk and he actually got up in her lap at one point, which surprised some of the adults. From what Leonard told her, he had been seperated
from his family and managed to get onto the ship that landed. Once at the Lair, everyone got
out and went into the Lair. Sophia sighed as she watched Leonard go off with the others.
Being with him reminded her of her own parents and family. It was then that she remembered
why she came and went in search of Panthro.
When no one was looking, Leonard snuck off to some private palce and changed in Cassius.
Mummra had helped him to get on the ship and fixed the memeories of the people so that he would be accepted in their group. As wella s the disguise? Well, there was a Thunderian boy named
Leonard who vanished with a girl named Lionelle during the destruction of Thundera. But all Cassius knew the real Leonard could be dead for all he cared. Cassius then took the form of
another Thunderian and left the room. The plan was working perfectly.

Sophia found Panthro in his room, after looking for him all over the place. She knocked
politely on the door and waited for a response. there was none.
"Come Panthro I kwo you're in there," she said.
"How?"
"Your aura is diffrent form the others. Can I come in?"
"Why?" Sophia moans.
"I want to talk to you."
"Aren't we talking now?"
'Men," she thought and walked right thorugh the door, startling Panthro right off his bed.
"It's about Angela," Sophia said, crossing her arms.
"I had a feeling it would be," Panthro said as he got up. Sophia raised an eyebrow at this.
"Why haven;t you kept in contact with her?" Sophia asked.
"I don't know...I guess we've been busy up here..."
"And yet the others make calls back to 3rd Earth when it's night here," Sophai said. Panthro
was quiet when he heard this.
"Gods Panthro, Angela has been heart broken ever since you left and you're just making
things worse by not keeping in touch with her," Sophia said. Panthro looked at her surprised.
"What?"
"That's right. As the ship you took went up in the sky, she collasped to her knees and
began to cry. Her heart broke as you slipped afway from her," Sophia said.
"So did mine," Panthro said. It was Sophia's turn to be surprised.
"So that's why you haven't kept in contact," Sophia said, the whole situation becoming
clear to her now.
"Sophia, please don't joke about this. I've neevr been through this before.
"I'm not," Sophia said flatly.
"Could hyave fooled me."
"Look, you need to send a mesage to Angela and tell her how you feel."
"How? It's too late...or early...to call her."
"Then write her a letter and I'll take it to her. I'll be the mail currier of Love
for you two," Sophai said with a grin. Panthro rasied an eyebrow at this.
"Okay now I was joking aroundl. But I will take your letter to her when you write it,"
Sophai said.
"I'll get to work on it then," Panthro said, turing to a desk that was in the room.
"Good, and I 'll come later..."
"Wait, aren't you going to help me write it?"
"No. This is YOUR letter. Write it from YOUR heart," Sophia said and left Panthro to
think about this. As Sophia walked out she startled one of the Thunderians who was walking
down the hall at the time.
"Gods, how'd you do that?" he asked, holding his hand to his chest over his heart.
"It's magic," Sophai said looking at him. Then she noticed something about his eyes. They
looked kinda like Leonard's.
"You wouldn't happen to know a young anow leopoard named Leonard would you?" Sophia asked.
"No, why?" he asked. Sophia sighed.
"He came in with this group of refugees to day and he seems to have vanished."
"I'll keep an eye out for him Miss Sophia." Sophia smiled at this.
"Thanks," she said and walked away from him When she was out of sight, he took the form of
Panthro and continued on his way. Just then Sophia stopped in her tracks when she realized something.
"Wait a minuet...I never told him my name," she said and went back to find that guy but couldn't. Sophia got a very bad feeling right then and soemthing was telling her to get
upstairs and fast.

Up in oberservation and controls, Lion-o was on watch when Panthro came in.
"Hey Panthro. Something wrong?" he asked.
"Nah, just came up to check on something," Panthro said and walked over to the controls.
Just then, Sophai phased up through the floor and saw the fake Panthro.
"Stop right there," she said. Both guys whirled around and looked at her.
"Sophia, what's wrong with you?" Lion-O asked.
"That's not the real Panthro Lion-o. Look at his eyes," Sophia said, poiting at the fake.
Lion-o looked and gasped to see that this Panthro had green eyes instead of red eyes. The
fake moved for the controls but Lion-O was quicker and forced him away jsut as the real
Panthro came in.
"Welcome to the party," The fake said, grabbing him and whirling around with him.
"That's not going to work with us tonight you fraud," Sophia said and powered up to her
Angel form and pulled out her soul sword. The fake spun around as he changed into her and attacked her. The two guys looked on as the two angels fought.
"By Jaga, which one is the real Sophia?" Lion-o asked. Panthro looked asnd saw that two
were extaclly alike, even down to the eyes.
"Clever boy changhing into me. Seeing as how you can't chage the color of your eyes,"
Sophia said. The fake Sophia smiled wickedly at this.
"Yes, and if weren't for that. I would hyave gotten my hand on those controls and smashed
them,"
the fake Sophia said in a somewhat male vaoice. Sophia smiled at this.
"You don't change into girls much do you?" she asked. The fake Sophai's eyes widened a bit
when she/he heard this. Sophia tookt his moment to attack him with her soul sword, driving it
in his shoulder. The fake shouted with pain and became Cassius.
"So, it's you Cassius," Sophia said, taking out her sword and keeping it pointed at him.
"Who is this guy?" Panthro asked.
"He's a chameleon type mutant who can change his appearnce to that of anyone he wants.
I suspect that he was maong the refuges and that's how he got in here in the first place,"
Sophia said. Cassius smiled at this.
"Clever girl," he said. Sophia just glared at him and pointed the blade at this throat.
"Sophia, we can't just kill him," Lion-O said.
"Yes, very noble of you. Following your code. But knwo this, let me go and I will come back
to try again," Cassius said. Lion-o and Panthreo looiked at eachother.
"I'll handle him," Sophai said, grabbing Cassius' shirt and vanishing with him. Both
Thundercats could see the look of fear onhis face.

Later that night, Panthro was just finsihing the letter when Sophia came back. He looked
up at her as she sat down on his bed.
"Well?"
"I took his before the gods...turns out he had committed some terrible crimes...including
the murders of some people from Earth," Sophia said. Panthro was quiet for a moment.
"And?"
"The Gods sentenced him to death instead of being sent to the penale planet where he would
have escaped anyways...and I was to kill him," Sophai said. There was a longer moment of
silence as Sophia sighed and laid back on the bed.
"So, hwo's the letter coming?" Sophai asked.

3rd Earth
A new dawns and it finds Angela her old self once more. Sophai had arrived late last night
and brought Panthro's letter to her. Sophai smiled as she watched her read it and her whole
mood turned around.
"Thank-you so much Sophia," Angela said when she was done reading it.
"No problem. Besides, you two were meant to be."
"How do you know this?"
"Sophia showed me the night we taught the Thundercats about All Hallows' Eve." Sophia
thinks abck to all the images she had seen. Angela losseing her locket, the arrivle of the
New Thundercats, the freeing of the Lunatacs, the calling of Anya & Angel, the many returns
of Angel, Panthro and Angela becomeing an item, and so much more that was yet to happen. She
usally didn't mess with time, but this tiem it was an exception, knwoing it would make Angela
happy.
"Do you mind sending a letter back to him for me?" Angela asked, bringing Sophia out of her trance.
"I don't mind." Angela squeals.
"I'm getting to work on it right now," Angela said and dashed to her room where she kept her
stationary. While Sophis is alone she feels a cold brezze even though the house is closed up.
She looks and sees Cassius in the shaodws.
"So, we meet one last time," she said. He nods.
"Yes, I wanted to see the face of the one who saw my true face and lived," he said.
Sophia sighs at this. It was Cassius who ahd killed her mother, and Sophia remebers an angel
with long blonde hair saving her.
"You do know that it was Angela who saved you from the same fate as your mother right?"
he asked, as if he could read her thoughts.
"Yes. And I hope things turn out better iny our next life for you," Sophia said.
Cassius bows his head bit and fads away. Sophia sighs once more as she flops into the
chair that swallows you up. It had been thehardest thing to kill Cassius...but she did it
knowing that if he lived, more would be hurt or killed.
"The cycle is almost through," Sophia said aloud to herself, stiring the spirits in the
house and Aurora came in, landing on her shoulder.
"Only two more chapters and this story will be over with," Sophia said.
"Everything must come to an end Sophia," Aurora said. Sophia nodded.
"Yes, there must be an end in order for things to begin anew," Sophia said with a smile wondering just how things were going to turn out now.
