At the annual meeting of the stockholders of the First National Bank of Logan held Wednesday, John H. Anderson was reelected president for the 24th consecutive year. He was first elected to the bank presidency in 1917, succeeding the late Thomas Smart. Reports of the condition of the bank were made by Mr. Anderson, Alma Sonne, executive vice-president; Russell S. In October, 1888 he was employed by the ZCMI working in the wholesale packing and shipping departments. In the spring of 1890 he homesteaded a 160 acres of land at Weston, Idaho. Later, in the spring of 1892 he was chosen manager of the grocery department of the ZCMI. It was in 1896 that he entered business for himself. In this venture he proved himself to be a successful business man and extended his acquaintance to all parts of the valley. On January 10, 1902 he was invited and accepted a position as director of the First National Bank. Later he was elected as vice-president of the institution. John H. Anderson was elected mayor of Logan, November 2, 1909. At the stockholders meeting in January, 1917, he was elected president of the bank and has served to the present time. Through his superior ability as an executive, the First National Bank has successfully weathered three serious depressions. Ever since Mr. Anderson became affiliated with the bank it has continued to grow, becoming stronger year after year until today it is one of the leading banks in the west. The people of this community have implicit confidence in the ability and integrity of both Mr. Anderson and Mr. Sonne, together with the other officers of the institution.
