Amber, New Mexico

Named for my wonderful wife Amber. This mythical city is a mixture of the old and the new, built to capture the spirit of the Southwest in the mid forties. The locals are poor, and stick to their old ways, customs and beliefs. Houses are small and shops are few and unique. Cattle and horse ranches sprawl for miles amid a myriad of plateaus and canyons, and winding riverbeds under a glaring red sun. The military has established new railways, landing strips and test sites in an effort to beat Europe in the invention of a hydrogen bomb. Concrete, barb wire and rectangular wooden structures with canvas rooftops and doors now stand intermingled with the old-west style buildings from an earlier world.
