What about me?
Huge U2 Fan
Ok Ok it all started out about 20 years ago. I heard Out Of Control on the radio. (some alternative radio station) Gee I feel old!! I was in high school and listening to ummm DISCO a lot. Yes, disco!  Why ? Because it was on every station on the planet, that's why! Anyways, I hear this song blast out of my horrible small boom box and that was it! I was freaking out that I heard they were coming to town in 1983. Of course I was just 16 at the time so I couldn't get in:( So, I waited for the bootleg of the show..hehe and got it! Thank god for older brothers:)
College
I go to college at 19 and find out that I can join a radio station. Hey, I love music, I'm there! Gee there is about 3 U2 albums in the station? Gee, guess what I start playing? LOL My time to play was 1-2 pm and then 4-6 every other day. I was lucky most people got one hour a day. In the late afternoon slots I could do basically anything, so I did! This is Boston by the way. U2's second home. I played B-sides a lot to show the students and all that they just weren't about radio songs. This went on for 2 years. I still never got the chance to see them. I wasn't into concerts much then.

At my college people were so into U2, I still have pictures of the radio station with posters up everywhere of them. I remember one guy "Rich" who must of been the biggest fan I ever met! He had bootlegs he said, seen shows, talked with a Irish accent and even was Irish .Wonder what ever happened to him? God I love Boston people, so devoted to such a great band!

My first U2 concert
I was 22. Just out of junior college. (still working for a station)  My girlfriend calls me up and says that a couple of her friends have tickets in Providence, Rhode Island to see them. I'm there! Gee I was in a speeding camaro going up highway 95 with these 2 crazy men. I was scared to death in this car! This car was flying! It's all a blur after that. Now I know why they were speeding, it was a U2 show and plus they were 20 year old immature men LOL  So, we get there (we ditch them) and end up upgrading our tickets to 8th row. (an extra 40.00 plus our tickets) Thank god I had a descent job then! We are in, and 8th row!
The Shows
First show: I couldn't tell you the set list. I know it was the War tour. I was so ecstatic! I can't remember much too. I was screaming like a crazed young girl would. I do remember them singing 2 songs two times. I also was pretty drunk by now. Wasn't a very memorable show but it was the happiest day of my life! They were great!

The rest is history! Every time they come to Boston, I am there. The talent, charisma, togetherness, love for each other, songwriting and just the music gets me through days and endless nights! What more could you ask for ? I am still a DJ to this day and can play my favorite band whenever I want! Thanks guys!
