Code of Conduct

Section I: Guildmaster

Article 1: The Guildmaster and head of the Arcane Knights is Snydar Nightwind.

Article 2: The Guildmaster will have final and overall authority with any guild activity.

Article 3: Guildmaster will be given veto power on guild decisions.

Article 4: The Guildmaster will have the ability to form new divisions and assign members to the head or heads or that division. Divisions will be subject to the Council of Elders approval.

Article 5: The Guildmaster may select First Knights who will be his personal assistant and protector, but have no power nor officer status.

 

Section II: College of Sages

Article 1: The Guildmaster will select Sages from Knights, based on their deeds and enthusiasm. All the Sages together will be called the College of Sages.

Article 2: The Sages will serve as Guildmaster's chief advisors and have the capability of inviting new members into the guild, said new members must be approved by Guildmaster.

Article 3: The Guildmaster will select one of his Sages to serve as High Sage. They will be the head Sage.

Article 4: The High Sage is second in authority to the Guildmaster and will take place of the Guildmaster if he is unable to make it to Norrath for a time.

 

Section III: Elders

Article 1: Elders are the class heads that represent the betterment of said class in guild activities.

Article 2: Each class in the guild gets one Elder to represent them.

Article 3: The Guildmaster will select a Knight to be an Elder. If the class wishes, it will be allowed to vote on the Knight they wish to represent them.

Article 4: The Elders have a responsibility to their class. If responsibility is not met they may voted out by their class or removed by Guildmaster.

Article 5: The Council of Elders is the main law making body of the guild, veto power reserved to Guildmaster.

 

Section IV: Knights

Article 1: All members who perform well will officially become Knights

Article 2: Knights will be selected from members who show a deep dedication to the guild, its functions, and its beliefs.

Article 3: To be promoted to Elder, Sage, or High Knight, a member must first prove themselves worthy of Knighthood. (Exceptions will be made when the new constitution is first adopted. All CURRENT officers will automatically recieve knighthood upon adoption of new constitution)

Article 4: Knights will be addressed as Sir or Madam, but will NOT have officer status.

Article 5: Knights who continue to excel may be promoted to officer posistions or become "First Knights". First Knights are the right-hand men and protectors of the Guildmaster.

 

Section V: All Members

Article 1: All who join the Arcane Knights will become first Squires upon their joining. As Squires, they will be expected to train and work for "Knighthood" within the Arcane Knights.

Article 2: Members main responsibility is to spread the word of the guild throughout Norrath and to protect the honor of our guild.

Article 3: We are Lawful-good guild, the members are expected to stay in the boundaries of that alignment.

Article 4: Any member acting out of accordance will be stripped of their Brotherhood or Sisterhood, this includes Elders, Sages and Guildmaster. All members have the right to a fair council of said offenses.

Article 5: All members have the right to address the guild at any of the meetings or call special council with Elders and other guild officials.

Article 6: All members are encouraged to enlist new members into the ranks of the guild.

Article 7: All members (including officers) are expected to pay guild dues, which is 3PP collected monthly for members above level 8. Level 4-8 will be expected to pay bimonthly, and below 4 do not have to pay.

 


 

Recruiting Responsibilities:

1. All officers will be given the ability to question and add new members.

2. Elders may only add members of the class they represent, unless they receive permission from the Guildmaster or a Sage.

3. Guildmaster and Sages will be allowed to added members of any race or class.

4. Several questions to ask recruits will be predetermined and MUST be ask to add a member to the guild. Invdividual may ask their own questions, but the predetermined questions MUST be asked.

5. If an officer adds a member, and that member brings dishonor upon the guild, it may result in said officer losing the right to invite members or demotion. This depends on the severity of the offense, and will be taken before Council of Elders for a decision.

 

Legislation Process:

1. The Council of Elders will serve as the main lawmaking body of the guild.

2. The Council of Elders will be required to vote on matters such as, but not limited to, changes in the constitution, changes in code of conduct, formation of new divisions, and removal of an officers (excluding Guildmaster).

3. With the majority or all of Elders in attendance at a council meeting, a vote of over 50% must be obtained for a topic to be approved and to proceed to the Guildmaster.

4. The Guildmaster will have veto power and can stop any decision made by the Council of Elders; HOWEVER, if the bill receives a unanimous vote, with ALL members of the Council of Elders in attendance, the Guildmaster may not veto the decision. After a veto, the veto may be dismissed by the same method.

5. When decisions will affect members in a possibly negative way, the Guildmaster may call a for a vote of all members or a "voice of the people.". This vote will be strictly for information and feedback, and will only affect decisions accept by way of intimidation or influence.

 

Court System:

1. If a member in the guild has a grievances towards another member, or a member behaves unjustly and out of line with the Code of Conduct, he will be brought to trial.

2. The Council of Elders will serve as the main court.

3. All Elders must be present to hear a trial, and all must agree unanimously on one of 3 verdicts: guilty, not guilty, or deadlock.

4. In the case of a guilty verdict, an appropriate sentence will be decided upon by the Sages.

5. In the case of a not guilty verdict, the member will be released, without sentence, and will not be brought to trial for the same case again.

6. In the case of a a deadlock verdict, members will be set free as not guilty, but may have the same case brought up again if more evidence is found.

7. The plaintiff or defendant both have the right to remain silent and to not answer questions ask of them by the court; however, if they answer, they must answer in entirely and truthfully.

8. The plaintiff or defendant both have the right to either represent themselves or to have another member represent them.

9. The plaintiff or defendant both have the right to appeal to the Guildmaster.

10. The Guildmaster will pick one of the same 3 verdicts as above, but his decision will be final. Sentence will still be determined by Sages.

 


 

Code of Conduct:

The code of conduct is expected to be followed by all members including officers.

The Arcane Knights stand for virtue and honesty. We strive to rid the evil from the whole of Norrath. We will help and aid all. Never shall we turn aside the call for aid, though it may be small and unimportant.

Members are expected the serve the guild to this purpose.

Members are expected to show honor, dignity, respect, honesty and virtue in all things that they do.

Members are encouraged to make suggestions that can aid the betterment of the guild.

Members are expected to participate in guild activities, but not required to do so.

Members a prohibited to participate in duels to settle disputes or express anger. They may, however, duel for the purpose of entertainment.

Members will be prohibited from participating in any activities that are looked down upon in the game such, but not limited to kill stealing and starting trains with intent to kill.

Note about NPCs- Members may be subject to permission before they attack "good" NPCs for quest, items, ect. A don't ask, don't tell policy will be adopted for this. HOWEVER, if seen and reported by another member or nonmember, the member who attacked the NPC may be brought to trial for their action.
