The Knobs are my best friends in all the world. Our "Squad" has gone through different evolutions, of course, over the years...but here is a basic breakdown of me and my bitches...
So, yeah, it's like this: I met Melissa shortly before the end of 7th grade. In the 8th grade, we met a girl who had just moved from Centreville (another town just 30 minutes away) and, henceforth, we eventually met her best friend from there. At said Centreville girl's 14th birthday, we met 2 of HER friends...one being Adrienne. After about a year, ALL the other girls (the one Melissa and I knew, and 2 of the ones from Centreville) moved. That left me, Melissa, and Adrienne. One, two, skip a few...about a year later Melissa met Leah and then a little while later we met Katie...and that is when The Knob Squad was born! Actually, the Knob Squad as we know it was born at Adrienne's old house in her basement as we decided to create a webpage about...stuff ^_^ At the same time we decided to spread Crisco all over her kitchen floor and slide around on it. Ah, Knobs...
Now, Melissa, Adrienne, Katie, Leah, and I have been through a lot of stuff together. We're had arguements (especially me and Adrienne) that have spanned months...and Leah even went M.I.A. for a while...but we always make it through. Melissa tends to let a lot of things slide, bottling everything up until it's time to yell at us ^_~ ... Adrienne and I are very forward with our feelings and can't hide anything, therefore addressing problems as they arise ... and Katie likes to avoid conflict altogether ^_^ Obviously, this makes for some very interesting times! It's our differences that, in the end, make us all stronger, I think. And it's our similarities and fun natures that keep us laughing all the time ^_^ The fun thing is, we all have very different lives, and so we don't get to see or talk to each other as much as we would like. Katie is living at college, Melissa is busy with work and school, Adrienne spends a lot of time working or with her boyfriend, Leah is usually watching small children or going out and doing stuff, and I do the same thing as Adrienne, basically. But when we all DO get to talk or get together, it's like nothing has changed. Like no time has passed between us at all. And that's the beauty of our friendship.
Anyway, we Knob girls have done a lot of growing up since we've all become friends and become our little "group", back in the summer of 1997 (I think). With college, boyfriends, and generally having separate lives from each other, when all we used to do back in the day is spend every waking moment together, you can imagine the changes we've been through. But, see, through it all, we've stayed together when a lots of girls our age would have given up or had some back-stabbing bitch-fest. That's something we would never do. When you think of most girls, ages 17 to 20, you usually think of twerpy little bitches trying to be popular who don't really care about the friends they hang out with. Well, all of us our proud to say we hate girls like that ^_^ In high school, none of us were popular! We would decorate our lockers with anime pictures, Ghostbusters pictures, and, in the cases of me and Adrienne, Darkwing Duck pictures ~_~;; And photos of each other, of course ^_~ We didn't care that we were more than a little odd and got weird looks from people. Because we knew we were Knobs, dammit! Unfortunately, Adrienne went to a different school than the rest of us, but through the years, she visited our school plenty of times ^_^ Attending our Homecoming dances, football games, and Prom were also regular occurances. And once, during our senior year, we packed up and went to see HER ^_^ I drove...it was a massacre ~_~;;
Well...I can't really think of anything else to say regarding my friends. Just that if you're ever at a con and see 4 chicks glomped together (since Leah has yet to attend one with the rest of us), humping, and causing general mass hysteria...that's us ^_~ And don't forget to visit our page The Knob Squad!
