Oscar is a player from Barcelona's highly succesful youth teams. He was born in the Barcelona region of Sabadell and has been a Barcelona fan all of his life. Johan Cruyff made him debut in the first team in the 92/93 season,
but has had trouble gaining a regular first team spot and winning the confidence of other coaches like Bobby Robson and Louis Van Gaal. It is not lack of talent, but more of an "attitude".
He has outstanding vision and ballhandling skills for a big guy. He can play either as an offensive midfielder or can play up front as a striker. His finishing is very good. Although he tends to like playing as a forward, he also likes playing
behind the team's true '9'. If ever given a chance, Oscar will show that he could become one of Europe's best players.
