Died sometime after 1850, we do not know when or where, he appeared in the 1840 and 1850 census in Pulaski County, but we found no record of him after
1850.
William Franklin "Frank" Harris
Born Feb. 6, 1840 Pulaski Co., VA
Enlisted in Company "F" of the
54th Virginia Infantry Regiment
on September 9th 1861.
Served as his colonel's
courier and had been assigned to the Pioneer Division of the Engineer's Corps.
Commended by his
commanding officer Colonel Trigg for capturing the
state flag
from the
22nd Michigan Regiment
at Snodgrass Hill during the battle of
Chickamauga.

Narcisah Jane Bolt Sept. 15, 1865 Carroll Co., VA.
Her father was
William H. C. Bolt. He enlisted in the Confederate Army on 5/29/1861 at Wytheville and is listed in the 45th Virginia Infantry
roster as a sargeant. He was elected Captain on 6/27/1861, was sick in November of 1961, transferred to the reserves, killed in action during
the first Battle
of Saltville on 10/2/1864 at the age of 44.
Moved from Laurel Fork to Newbern.
In March of 1912 he served as the oldest member of the jury during the trial of Floyd Allen which erupted in violence and is known as the
Hillsville Shootout.

John H. Harris
Born 1842 Pulaski Co., VA
John H. Harris was left sick in the hospital in Lexington, Ky. when the
Confederate army pulled out of Kentucky in October of 1862. There is a crescent shaped area of Lexington City Cemetery that is designated Section "P" and is reserved for Confederate veterans. This is a very large cemetery containing some 50,000 graves. There is a monument that has 160 names on it. Most of these died in the hospital or the Battle of Perryville. J. H. Harris is name number 53.

Infantry of the Confederate States Army on September 9, 1861 in Newbern,
Pulaski County Virginia.
Trained near Christiansburg on Asa Hall's farm and it was called Camp Hall.
Participated in
44 battles in 7 states.
Surrendered April 27, 1865.
Paroled on May 1st and 2nd,
1865.
Out of the 3300 or so men who served in the 54th and the 63rd VA Regiments
there were only 93 left to be paroled. Of these 93, James R. J., Jesse T. and
William F. Harris were present.
