This page is a spin off of the "Femme Fatales" page. This page is dedicated to male characters featured in horror movies that have exceeded our expectations and have proved to be wickedly cool. Just by starring in one movie, they've managed to make their mark in the genre. It's an elite group. I'd be up here, but I'm too cool for that.

PATRICK BATEMAN

(American Psycho)

I know, a disgusting picture through and through, but this one image inparticular manages to sum up Patrick's personality. Played by Welsh actor Christain Bale, Patrick is the CEO of a prestigious broking company, Pierce and Pierce. He has everything: The dreamhouse, the sweetest clothes, he's charming, suave, well-kept. But this is only a shell. A picture-perfect outer image for the world to see; to mask what's really going on inside his head, or what isn't. If you've seen the movie, or even better, read the book, the "real" Patrick is an enigma. He's driven by a need. In a way, he's a slave to his compulsions. The only means of gratification for him is grotesque mutlations. Anyone who he feels worthy of his wraith. Oh yeah, and he digs the hookers. How can you not want to be him?! American Psycho was quite a departure for Christain. This is certainly not his first film. Mostly period pieces. I'm not one for those flicks. You know what's worse? Acting in a play that's set in the past. They require accents. It's not for me. I can alter my voice pretty well, just obnoxious ones though. They don't do you too well. That's why I retired from theatre. I'm fucking off topic! DiCaprio was up for the part, but Christain stuck to his guns and won it back. Leo would have sucked ass in that role. Christ, he reminds me of a 12 year old girl....

COLE SEAR

(The Sixth Sense)

Does it bother anyone else that a pic of a 12 year old kid is right below what could be considered gay porn? Anyways, you know who he is. If you ask me, Haley Joel Osmett totally stole the movie. He upstaged Bruce "I'm taking on more serious roles because I'm almost considered washed up" Willis. For such a young actor, he has a lot of heart. Watching this movie, you're scared for Cole. He didn't ask for any of it, and what a fucked up thing to be thrown into. Just watching him cry, you feel so bad for him! I'm gonna be kinda faggy right now, not counting Patrick up there. He's a cute kid, dude! At the risk of sounding like a fucking potser, Haley Joel Osmett is my hero. He's so talented and he just hit puberty. Dude, when I was that age all my life consisted of was video games and my newly discovered self stimulation. And have you seen this kid in interviews?

I saw him on Larry King Live one night, he sounded like a fucking 30 year old, the words he was using! I don't know, I just admire that. Instead of being, pretty much, a waste of space, waiting to bloom once he's 18 like all of the children in this country to make a lives for themselves, Haley already has establish a far better one than most of the actors in Hollywood who've been there for years. I just don't want to see him hosting an informercial in 5 years. God damn....

STU MACHER

(Scream)

Scream was the cause of the second onslaught of the horror genre exploitation. The first, of course, was Halloween. Horror movies have changed since the 70's. There's more play on audience confusion and more humor-based dialogue. Stu was Scream's comic relief, with Randy coming in as a close second. Stu's one of those guys that are just...fucking weird. Everyone knows someone like him. They're the guy that never takes anything seriously. They're constantly running their damn mouths, spewing out the most retarded things someone could say, and their girlfriend is usually hot as hell. Definitely the last guy you'd think would ever yield homicidal tendencies. That's what made him so great in Scream. He's stupid and goofs off entirely too much, but he's a good friend. Never did I think he'd show up in the end the way he did. Matthew Lillard is the asshole friend. Well...not really...

BARRY COX

(I Know What You Did Last Summer)

Another one of Kevin Williamson's movies make an impact in the revived genre of horror. Probably because I Know What You Did came out, like, right after Scream did, so the hype was still going strong. Barry was cool; my favorite character. He was the asshole. The jerk who'll start shit with anyone, doesn't matter who, if they piss him off. Like when he chokes Julie after they dump Ben off. Dude, I was laughing. It was funny! I don't really know what to say. I Know What You Did (that title is too fucking long) was Ryan's only horror movie. He's done a slew of other films before and since then. Not my favorite of his though. Cruel Intentions was the shit.
