What do Deltas do?

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing services and programs that promote human welfare. We are a sisterhood of over 232,000 predominantly African-American college educated women. The Sorority currently has more than 935 chapters located in the United States, Japan, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Haiti, England, the Republic of Panama, Liberia, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea.

The Delta membership provides an extensive array of public service through its programs. Delta members act as volunteers in direct service work, catalysts for community action, recruiters of public and private agency support of important social issues, leaders in networking and coalition building with other organizations, and resources for the securing and dissemination of information. An integral part of public service program is the continuous maintenance of an effective system for gathering and retrieving of data in order to make analyses and evaluations. Delta Sigma Theta needs college women with a love of sisterhood and a strong dedication to public service.
