WINDHORST GENEALOGY PAGE

During the mid-1600's, I can only find mention of two WINDHORST / WINDHORST men living in Lesumstotel. They were Albert WINTHORST / WINDHORST and Henrich WINTHORST / WINDHORST. Albert and Henrich may have been brothers. I have figured their approximate years of birth by using their ages that were recorded on a 1682 list of men eligible for military service. However, I have found that the ages on this list can be off by as much as five years. The approximate year of birth for Henrich would be 1622, and for Albert 1634. CHILDREN OF ALBERT WINDHORST

• Keimet WINDHORST - She was born in Lesumstotel and baptized on 12 May 1663, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Margarethe WINDHORST - She was born in Lesumstotel and baptized on 24 May 1666, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum. Margarethe married Elert KATTENHORN, on 30 August 1688, in Lesum.
• Anna WINDHORST - Anna was born in Lesumstotel and baptized on 20 December 1668, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Maria WINDHORST - She was born in Lesumstotel and baptized on 18 Feb 1672, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum. Maria married Dirich / Dirck HORNBURG, of Scharmbeckstotel, on 09 May 1696, in Lesum.
• Heilke WINDHORST - She was born in Lesumstotel and baptized on 18 Feb 1677, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Hinrich WINDHORST - I have no dates of baptism or birth for Hinrich. He was married on 05 November 1698, in Lesum, to Gretejan von RAHDEN, of Ihlpohl. I know of one daughter, Gebeke, who was baptized on 01 March 1703, in Lesum.

CHILDREN OF HENRICH WINDHORST

• Johann WINDHORST was baptized on 01 February 1658, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum. On 01 Septemeber 1692, in Lesum, he married Gretje SCHNIBEN. I know of six children: Hinrich; Dirich / Dierich; Albert; Gretje; Gebbeke; and Reineta / Reimt.
• Claus WINDHORST - He was baptized on 20 November 1659, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Henrich WINDHORST - He was baptized on 11 January 1663, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Maria WINDHORST - Maria was baptized on 14 February 1664, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Carsten WINDHORST - He was baptized on 09 February 1668, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.
• Dietrich WINDHORST - He was baptized on 27 October 1672, at St. Martini's Church, in Lesum.

There was an Anna WINDHORST who married Carsten SCHRÖDER, of Ihlpohl, on 03 September 1698, in Lesum. After his death in 1700, she married Dirich KÖSTER, on 03 February 1701, also in Lesum. On the record of her marriage to Carsten, Anna is listed as the daughter of Henrich WINDHORST. However, I have not found Henrich having a daughter Anna. Records do show that Albert WINDHORST had a daughter Anna, and this very well could be her. This is a puzzle that I would like to be solved, as Anna was my ancestor.

Carsten and Anna had a daughter Maria SCHRÖDER, born in August 1697. Dirich and Anna had three children: Martin; Albert; and Gretje.
