KARVOSKI / KARWOWSKI GENEALOGY PAGE

Wladyslaw KARWOWSKI (a.k.a. Walter KARWOWSKI / KARVOSKI, in the U.S.A.) and his wife Stanislawa (Stella in the U.S.A.) TUCHINSKI were born in Poland and immigrated to the United States. Stella came with her daughter Laura in 1904. Walter came to the U.S. in 1903. The 1920 census has them living at 149 North Quince St., Mt. Carmel, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Later, they moved to a farm in Wieshample, Northumberland County, PA, which is about 10 miles from Mt. Carmel, PA. Stella's death certificate gives her usual residence as 319 N. Maple St., Mt. Carmel, PA.

According to Stella's death certificate she was born October 10, 1876, but the census has her being born Oct. 10, 1879. Stella died Feb. 19, 1956. She is buried at St. Ambrose Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, PA. She is buried next to her son John. Stella's death certificate lists her parents as Leon Tuchinski and Balwina or Balurns Unknown. Stella died of Pulmary Tuberculosis.

A family member said that Walter died Feb. 4, 1940 in PA. But, we have been unable to obtain any record of his death. He isn't buried at St. Ambrose Cemetery. The census record has Walter being about 1872 in Poland. Walter's occupation was a miner. A source also told me that Walter was baptised at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church at Winza, Poland.

• Wladyslawa (Laura in the U.S.A.) - She was born on 19 Jun 1901, in Poland. Immigrated to the United States in 1904. Laura married Joseph WESOLOWSKI. Laura died May 5, 1981.
  

• Julian "Louis" Thomas - He was born on 18 Nov 1907, in Mt. Carmel, PA; and died on 17 Dec 1965, in Portchester, N.Y. Julian married Catherine DOERICH on 31 Oct 1935.

• Bertha was born 1904 in Pennsylvania. She married Frank BEDNARCZYH.

• Joseph was born 1907 in Pennsylvania.

• Frances was born 1910 in Pennsylvania. She married Michael LEWSOCK.Frances died Jan. 4, 1998.

• Elsie - She was born on 24 Dec 1912; and died in Schuylkill Co., PA.

• John E. - He was born Dec. 28, 1915 in Pennsylvania and died in April 13, 1960. He is buried beside his mother at St. Ambrose Cemetery. The following was written on his gravestone: S. Sgt. Medical Dept., WWII BSM #OLC.

• Walter - He was born on 26 Feb 1917; and died in Feb 1974. He was married to Gertrude GROSS.
