Claus KÖSTER & Mette JACHENS

Claus KÖSTER was born in 1740/1741, in Lesumstotel. He was the son of Albert KÖSTER and Anna Hedwig GEILS. Claus was a cottager. He died in February 1800, in nearby Platjenwerbe, at the age of 59 years.

Mette JACHENS was born on 05 June 1752, in Platjenwerbe, and baptized on 11 June 1752, in Lesum. She was the daughter of Henrich JACHENS and Gesche RASCHEN. Mette died in August 1824, in Platjenwerbe, at the age of 72 years, 2 months, 15 days.

Claus & Mette (who was pregnant) were married on 12 Nov 1771, at St. Martini Church, in Lesum (near Bremen). I know of ten children:

• Gesche KÖSTER - She was born on 21 May 1772, in Platjenwerbe.

• Albert KÖSTER - He was born on 05 Apr 1774, in Platjenwerbe; and baptized on 10 Apr 1774, at St. Martini Church. Albert married Adelheid KATHMEYER, on 10 May 1799, in Lesum. He died on 30 May 1807, in Brundorf, at the age of 33 years, 1 month, 25 days.

• Hinrich KÖSTER - He was born on 27 Apr 1776, in Platjenwerbe; and baptized the following day at St. Martini Church. Hinrich was a ship's carpenter. He married Beke KÖSTER ON 08 Aug 1806, in Lesum. Hinrich died on 30 Mar 1850, in Platjenwerbe, at the age of 73 years, 10 months, 29 days.

• Dirck (Diedrich) KÖSTER - He was born on 29 (?) Sep 1778, in Platjenwerbe; & baptized on the same day at St. Martini Church. Dirck married Lübke Margarethe TIETJEN, on 27 Mar 1806, in Lesum.

• Gevert KÖSTER - He was born on 20 Apr 1781, in Platjenwerbe.

• Anna Margarethe KÖSTER - She was born on 06 July 1784, in Platjenwerbe; & baptized on 11 Jul 1784, at St. Martini Church. Anna married Friedrich HARJE / HARBER, on 10 Nov 1816, in Lesum.

• Metta KÖSTER - She was born on 14 (?) Mar 1787, in Platjenwerbe; & baptized on 18 Mar 1787, at St. Martini Church. On 04 Jul 1811, Metta had an illegitimate son, whom she named Martin Diedrich. Martin was the son of Martin Diedrich PUNDT. On 02 Mar 1816, Metta married Johan Ahrend KIMM, in Lesum.

• Gebert / Gevert KÖSTER - He was born on 26 Feb 1792, in Platjenwerbe; & baptized on 29 Feb 1792, at St. Martini Church. Gebert married Anna Margreta BARJE, on 04 Feb 1820, in Lesum. He died on 11 Apr 1862, in Platjenwerbe, at the age of 71 years, 2 months, 14 days.

• Beke / Becke KÖSTER - She was born on 07 May 1794, in Platjenwerbe; & baptized on 11 May 1794, at St. Martini Church. Beke died on 06 Aug 1825, at the age of 31 years, 3 months.

• Claus KÖSTER - He was born on 12 Mar 1798, in Platjenwerbe; & baptized on 02 Jun 1798, at St. Martini Church.
