The Peot's Corner

Mike Owens

Paraphrased Proverb.

A woman of noble character who can find?
A woman so loving, so generous, so kind.
She is worth far more than rubies, or silver, or gold.
The treasure of her can scarcely be told.

I have found such a treasure, I can not deny.
I'll sell all I have, this treasure to buy.
You have enriched me so, you have made me complete.
In loving devotion, I sit at your feet.

I have full confidence in all that you do.
You lack nothing of value, your love is so true.
You will bring me good all the days of your life.
You harbor my soul, and ease all my strife.

You select from the best, eagerly work with your hands.
You provide for this loved one, thus he never demands.
You meet all my needs without conflict or fuss.
The giving of happiness, to you is a must.

I have found many women who have done noble things,
Who have entered my heart and caused it to sing.
But you, by so far, have surpassed them all.
You've heard my heart's cry, and answered the call.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
each in the end, disaster is greeting.
But you are a woman who trusts first in the Lord.
You are to be praised, I give this reward.

You have earned my respect, you have all of my love.
I count you a blessing, a gift from above.
regardless our path from this moment forth,
I know I have found a pearl of great worth!
