Mike Compton (1985-1987)
OT/DL, 6' 7", 245 lbs
The most celebrated player in BLUES history. Currently the starting guard for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS. Spent the first eight years of his professional career with the Detroit Lions. Gained ALL STATE honors in 1987 and was voted Offensive Lineman of the Year in SWVA. Continued his career at the University of West Virginia where he was a concensus football and ACADEMIC All American. Continues to support the BLUES in so many ways: equipment, annual trip to see the LIONS in Detroit and assisting with fundraising for school programs.
