The Cascade School was built in 1931, and closed as a School in 1963. Our Building is Owned by the Cascade Community Only. We operate on donations and fund raisers and we thank you for your support. We are Tax Exempt..

Our Stage is the Home for The "Cascade Express Band" that have been playing for almost 20 years, Every Friday Night.

A group of folks from the Community got together and built the former Owner, a building for his Cabinet Shop to move into for this Old School Building, with one purpose in mind, to have a gathering place for the Community and surrounding communities to be able to use for large crowds and gatherings . This was around 1991.

Much work was needed to be completed before the Center would be available for use, since money had to be raised to help complete the new building first. Many people donated man hours and building supplies to help with the project, once it was known what we were to use the Old School for. Some nights folks would be there working until the late hours on this project. You will notice that the Maple Hardwood Floors are original, and we've been told, one of the best Dance Floors around, and almost 80 years old.

Fund Raisers, Music Benefits, Cook Outs, Steak Dinners, and even a new Truck raffled off, not to forget a Womanliness Beauty Pageant, has helped with ongoing projects.

In 1993, we had money to install a well, septic tank, and a new addition was built that provided the Bathrooms with running water, where there had never been these privileges before.

An Honor Roll - Wooden plaque , hangs in the Foyer at the front of the building, where many people have donated at Least $100.00 in Cash that went into the building fund.

Many months and many Fund raisers ago, we have moved along with the Rustic looking building, being kept to look as much as it did long ago, with all the modern conveniences of Three heating and Air Conditioning units, and a nice modern kitchen that is used weekly. You will notice there is a New Metal Steel Roof that was installed a year ago, along with a Glass enclosed front entrance, and a Covered Handicapped Ramp.

Our Center is used for Weddings, Receptions, Family Gatherings, Music Events, Plays and Shows, and there is a Classroom used by Danville Community College with a complete Computer lab. Art Classes every Monday, along with many other crafting classes. We walk hand and hand with our Cascade Community Vol. Fire Department, supporting Fund Raisers and providing a place for many activities.

We have an area, large enough to seat around 200 people for steak dinners , Christmas Parties, Gospel Singing's, and Musical events. All For a Donation for the Upkeep of the Building.

We have had the Same Chairman Of The Board of Directors since we began back in 1991. Rev. L. Kermit Law, along with ten other board members. We meet the 2nd Monday each month at 7:00 PM and invite you to come join us. Help us to used this facility for the betterment of this Community.

Every Meeting is started with a Prayer of Thanks, because we all feel that God has had a hand in this from the beginning.
