Knowles Hayes Stone, Khe Sanh

I took this photo on an overnight next to the runway at Khe Sanh. We were serving as gunship escort for the UH-34D detachment. Our accomodations were on the ground under the UH-1E - a shelterhalf was fastened to the aft end of our helicopter. The cook stove Bart was using was jet fuel tapped from the bottom of the huey into an ammo can filled with sand. Bart was our "Emeril of Khe Sanh".
