Crossmolina 1-3 Ballinrobe Town

Crossmolina crashed to a 3-1 defeat against newly promoted Ballinrobe Town on Sunday at Abbeytown. Derek Greham had put the home side ahead with his first goal of the season but Ballinrobe equalised and then took the lead with a controversial goal. With Michael Canavan lying injured on the ground the visitors opted to play on instead of putting the ball out of play to allow the stricken defender to recover. As a result they scored their second goal and later on added to it to register their first points as a Premier League side. Crossmolina's season has started poorly and they will hope to regroup in the week off to belatedly begin their push for the Super League.
