RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF
AMENDING OF THE FAIRFAX COUNTY CODE
TO PROHIBIT DISCRIMINATION
BASED ON SEXUAL ORIENTATION
W
hereas it is currently illegal in Fairfax County to discriminate based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age, familial status, or disability; and protections exist in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodations, education, credit, and county contracting;
W
hereas Fairfax County does not provide protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation, or protection from retaliation for advocating such protection;
W
hereas discrimination that denies any individual the opportunity to contribute fully to the common good is a deterrent to the continued prosperity of Fairfax County;

herefore be it resolved that the undersigned hereby encourages the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to amend appropriate Fairfax County codes, regulations, and policies to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation.
