International Mission Board
Richmond, VA — Spring 2002—2005

Initially employed as an independant contractor for the IMB on projects including interactive CDs and full Web site design and development. Was employed full-time as a project manager with duties that included Web site administration, specialty site design and HTML development, and overseeing the HTML e-mail environment (including training and set-up of electronic newsletters for internal Board clients).

Capital One Financial Services
Richmond, VA — 1999–2002

Designed and developed outbound e-mail sent as HTML files to current and prospective customers as either solicitation vehicles or customer service messages. Created animated banner designs for Web use. Special project experience: Designed first Web-based Financial Earnings Conference Call site for Capital One. Duties on this project included:

  • Coordinated the Web broadcast with an outside vendor
  • Developed pages to include the vendor plug-ins
  • Designed overall look-and-feel of the page
Designed and developed a venture capital Web-site for Capital One (North Hill Ventures).

Management experience: Supervised contractor designers and developers in creation of outbound e-mail. Worked closely with Internet producers to create e-mail campaigns from client creative briefs, and coordinated schedules with the producers to meet very tight deadlines.

Created documentation for contractors and other group designers to indoctrinate them into the area of e-mail design and development. Worked with Corporate Brand group to create Internet version of Corporate Branding standards, including logo-use, color guidelines, and template creation.

AT&T Solutions

Chantilly, VA — 1996–1999

Designed and maintained corporate Intra- and Extranet pages. Maintained Web sites for Interactive Networking Applications, Networking Professional Services, and the Advanced Client Support System (Extranet site). Designed Web-based presentation for Stanley Works Electronic Commerce Online Catalog. Member of Stanley Works Electronic Commerce Online Catalog engagement team. Responsible for graphic "look and feel" of Stanley site, as well as maintenance of client graphics and catalog data.

Management experience includes work as a Proposal Manager on a bid to a major international airline. Also supervised a small team of graphic designers on multiple proposals. Experienced in HTML, Javascript, and Macromedia Flash.

Andersen Consulting, Federal Proposal Center
Washington, DC — 1995–1996

Graphic designer in Proposal Development Center. Designed proposal covers, brochures, and collateral for Government Markets group.

While attending Atlanta College of Art was employed as a pre-press technician/in-house graphic designer. Prepared jobs for production on Linotronic, Canon, and laser-output work. Operated Optronics Colorgetter drum scanner and Optronics Colorsetter output printer.

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
Williamsburg, VA — 1975–1983 and 1985–1988.

In first time-span, was a musician with the Fife and Drum Corps, rising to rank of Sgt. Major (highest rank attainable). Later employed as an Instructor, responsible for management of over 80 young musicians. Duties included program scheduling, preparation of instruction materials, and supervision of daily activities.
