Harry Felice Grandinetti


Harry Felice Grandinetti was born on April 14, 1914, in Johnstown, PA. He married Mary Anne Cotroneo on June 6, 1943 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Johnstown, PA. He received a BS Degree in secondary education at Indiana State Teachers College, in Indiana, Pennsylvania in June 1941. He taught Mathematics at Garfield High School in Johnstown, PA. He was drafted into the Army in 1941. Graduated as a 2nd Lt. CAC, at Camp Davis, North Carolina in Nov. 1942. After leaving the army, he completed education and received a Masters Degree in Education at the University of Pittsburgh, PA on June 14, 1950. Mr. Grandinetti went to work at the VA Regional office in Pittsburgh as an Associate Psychologist. Mr. Harry Grandinett went to the Pentagon in Washington D.C. as a Managment Analyst, Headquaters for the Department of the Army (DOA) in 1955. He received continuing education in Supervisory Practices, Conference Leadership, Management Techniques, Institute on Civil Rights, Urban Development and attended the Command & General Staff College. In 1972 to 1974, Mr. Grandinetti was a member of the White House Task Force on Aid to Small Communities. Mr. Grandinetti retired from civil service and the US Army (LT. Colonel) in 1974. He now lives comfortable in Florida.



Mary Anne Cotroneo Grandinetti


Mary Anne Cotroneo was born on February 7, 1917 in Johnstown, PA. She married Harry F. Grandinetti on June 6, 1943. She received her BS Degree in Music & Elementary Education at the Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania in June 1940. Ms. Grandinetti supervised music education in 13 rural schools in Somerset County, PA. In 1942 she became the Music Director for Westmont High School and in 1949 received her Masters in Education at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, PA. Ms. Grandinetti moved to Alexandria in February of 1950 and taught 6th grade at St. Louis Catholic School in Alexandria, VA and later taught at Waynewood Elementary in Alexandria, VA for 15 years. She directed the St. Louis Catholic Choir from 1970-1975. Ms. Mary Anne retired from the Fairfax County School System in June of 1979. She and her husband moved to Florida in 1980 and she continued to work as a volunteer as a Nurses Aid at Patrick Air Force Base Hospital for 5 years, and also was a Substitute Teacher at Tropical Elementary School in Florida. Ms. Grandinetti is a member of the National Educators Association(NEA).
