Rose Grandinetti Asti
Rose Grandinetti graduated from Johnstown High School in 1930 and went on to
earn her B.S. degree at Lock Haven Teachers College, Pennsylvania in Elementary Education in 1933. She taught 5th grade in the Johnstown Public School System from 1938 to 1945.
She married John Asti on November 17, 1945 and moved to Johnsonburg, Pa. and taught the 5th grade in the Johnsonburg Public School System from 1945 to 1965. She retired in 1965. Maria Grandinetti
passed away in 1979 and Rose Asti was tendered the esteem title "Matriach" of the 95 members of the Grandinetti Family.
John Asti
Mr. John Asti attended Tonsorial Training and barbered on week-ends and holidays as he worked as a
dispatcher at the local paper mill in Johnsonberg until he was drafted in the U. S. Army. Mr. Asti served as an NCO in the ETO. He earned four Battle Stars. John Asti enjoyed hunting and fishing in the mountains of Pennsylvania
and Canada. Mr. Asti was buried with full Military Honor Guard and a 21 gun salute at his internment ceremony in 1999.
