Oblivion Plus

It doesn't take long
to be totally forgotten
by that small number who
actually knew your name,
and only a little longer
by surviving relatives
who have always insisted
they occasionally recollect
your true family bond,
but when they all die
no one will know
you ever existed,
except from
near-death evidence
of a life beyond.
