On The Brink

Born with the impulse to grow,
so much of our human behavior
is an obsessive pursuit of
ever more booming investments,
only in dire crisis do we
face reality and think
enough of our polluted,
overpopulated Earth
to now safely recycle
a hundred percent and
cool the macho instinct
so all young women may
plan a smaller family,
before the biosphere
collapses and life
goes extinct.
