Stubbornly

this mostly ignored poet
of the eco-apocalypse
contrives to save
his work for whoever
manages to survive
in a future society,
making sure he signed it
before locked in a trunk,
though often haunted
by the real possibility
however well he may
secure his collection
if planet Earth dies
nobody will be alive
to find it.
