We have each chosen 3 songs that we think will be chart impacters for the second half of 1999.

John's First Pick: Madonna - Beautiful Stranger

I just saw the movie Austin Powers 2 yeaterday. Very funny!
The song from the movie entered at #37 without spending
a single week on the OTB list. The song is really rising
fast, and I think it will end up being one of the highest
pointed songs of 1999.

Jason's First Pick: K-Ci & Jo Jo - Tell Me It's Real

This is a very beautiful ballad from the Hailey brothers.
It's climbed the chart fairly fast so far and I think that,
as Sheryl Crow might say, it'll go "anything but down" over
the next few weeks. It should hang around on the chart
for a while. Some have said that it rivals All My Life in
song quality. I don't know about that, but it's very good.

John's Second Pick: Faith Evans - Never Gonna let You Go

This really beautiful ballad from Faith is one of my favorite
slow songs at the moment. Such a beautiful song from a
beautiful woman!

Jason's Second Pick: Eric Benet & Tamia - Spend My Life With You

What is there to say about this song? The one thing that
comes to my mind is that this is a very great duet pairing.
Two singers with great voices. This is one R&B song to
watch over the next few weeks. It's already conquering
Radio & Records' Urban AC chart and is making waves on the
Urban chart too. Watch for it on our chart in the next
few weeks. This is probably my favorite slow R&B song
right now. It's so beautiful.

John's Third Pick: Amber - Sexual

Amber burst into the music scene in late 96 with her chart
mnainstay This is Your Night. Her debut album was EXCELLENT,
and now she's back with a new song Sexual. An album is
scheduled to be released later this year, and I hope it's as
great as the last one.

Jason's Third Pick: TLC - Unpretty

That's right. TLC is back from their trip to "male-bashing
land." The follow up to No Scrubs is surely going to
catch the ears of a lot of people in the second half of
1999. This song was adapted from a poem written by lead
singer, T-Boz. Anyone who is feeling bad about themselves
or is making someone feel bad about themselves, should take
a listen to this. It'll really get you thinking.
