The Boys Of Summer - Don Henley
It's August and the end of summer is drawing near, so I thought I'd spotlight a song from the past that talks about this time of the year. Okay, so "The Boys Of Summer" really talks more about trying to reclaim a lost love, but in the song Don Henley describes an empty beach town after all of the vacationers have left. Anyway, this is one of my favorite 80s tracks. It's been remade more than once, but the original is by far still the best version. "The Boys Of Summer" was released in late 1984 and ended up going to #6 on the Pop airplay chart in early 1985.

Headsprung - LL Cool J
LL Cool J's new single, "Headsprung" stands on the verge of debuting on our chart. The single comes from his upcoming CD, "The DEFinition." Amazingly enough, LL has been a recording artist for 20 years...and still manages to remain relevant in the music industry. That's no easy feat, considering the constant changes in styles and fan tastes. "Headsprung" is pretty much a club anthem, but it's very catchy. I think it'll have success on the chart when it debuts.
