In the words of Strongbad, "Holy crap man!" This has got to be one of the most insane releases ever. It's like Beherit said to themselves, "I really like hardcore black metal (Von's Satanic Blood, Mayhem's Deathcrush) but let's see if we can make it sound more evil." The result? This piece of sonic death. This is serious black metal stripped down to its most bare. No frills, no production, inhuman vocals (sound almost like caveman grunts at times), a guitar sound that is basically the equivalent of fingernails on a blackboard. Here is the sad thing about it all: I kind of like it. Beherit is supposed to be about an extremely evil atmosphere. And listening to this, you almost feel like your eardrums are entering the ninth circle of hell. This is NOT for the faint of heart. Only the hardest of the hardcore black metallers should even bother with this.
