A native of Ringgold, Ga., he was a son of the late John and Martha Plott Thomas, he was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by two sisters; four brothers; and one stepson, Matthew Queen.
Survivors include his former wife, Robin Thomas of Englewood; one daughter and son-in-law, Chenille and Jonathan Rowland of Englewood; one son, Shaun Thomas of Englewood; two stepsons, Adam Queen of Athens and Will Queen of Englewood; and two grandchildren, Makayla Rowland and Ivey Bates.
Family and friends assembled at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cunningham Cemetery for the graveside service with the Rev. R.B. Bryan officiating. There was no formal visitation.
Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah was in charge of arrangements.
