NOTE: This letter was found in the contents
belonging to my Grandfather, William P. Starks. It is
from his sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Epperson Stancil,
wife of George A. Stancil. George was the son of
Samuel & Nancy E. Whisenant Starks Stancil. My grandfather
was the son of Nancy and her first husband, John P. Starks
George Stancil & William Starks were half brothers.
I have copied this as closely as possible from the original
document. The original was written with a pencil and is in
remarkable shape for a letter over 50 years old.
