Lewis Starks was the son of Thomas J. and Catherine Starks.
He was the brother of my great-grandfather, John Starks.
Lewis and his family lived in Gilmer County, Georgia.
Nancy L. Whisenant was his first wife.
Nancy was the daughter of John Calloway & Kemley Carver (or Carter) Whisenant.
I am working on proving Kemley's last name.

NOTE:Many sources of information on the web have given Nancy E. Whisenant as the name of Lewis' first wife. She actually married John Starks, the brother of Lewis. Nancy was my great-grandmother and is buried at Concord cemetery where my grandfather and many other family members are buried. A copy of the marriage license and a photo of her tombstone are included on this site.
