Schreient was formed by the ridiculous Masafumi Takatori, Reiji Takatori's screw-up son. Masafumi was trying to take over the world by making an army of zombie mutants and was testing his formula on innocent strangers. Schreient were his helpers. His "dolls", as he called them. They protected him from Weiss when they came to kill the bastard for turning innocent people into disgusting monsters straight out of tentacle hentai. When Weiss got close to killing Masafumi, he drank his own formula and became a mutant. Then he bashed Aya against a piano. A lot. Then he saw Omi and said, "Mamoru?" and then Omi spit a little dart in his face. Then Masafumi died. But that wasn't the end of him, yet! Schreient kept him alive through the whole second season in a big glass jar. Then Nagi caused the telekinetic event of the century and THEN Masafumi died, and all were distraught. Not.
Oh, and Schreient means "screaming" in German.
