Suzy's Lacy Scrunchie

Materials:
1 large size ponytail scrunchie the same color (or close to) as the thread you plan to use.
Sm amt size 10 bedspread cotton
Size C hook
Join thread to band with sc. *Ch 1, sc around band, to nearly fill band. It should be well covered, but not too tightly. Sl st to beginning sc to join.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, Ch 2, *hdc in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, around. Join with hdc to beginning sc to join.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, ch 3, *hdc in next ch 2 sp, ch 3, around. Join with hdc to beginning sc to join
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, ch 4, *hdc in next ch 3 sp, ch 4, around. Join with hdc to beginning sc to join
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, ch 5, *hdc in next ch 4 sp, ch5, around. Join with hdc to beginning sc to join. Fasten off, or add optional edging.
Optional edging:
Sl st in next ch loop, ch 1, *2 sc in same loop, ch 3 and sl st in last sc to form picot, sc in same ch sp. Sl st in next ch loop, repeat from * around. Weave in and tie off ends of
thread.
