Ranma 1/2: The Duck Pond

A cool wind blew making Akane clench her coat tighter. Today was one of 
those days where you hate the world and everything about it. The day started 
off bad when she spilt her tea all over her new dress. At school it only got 
worse, on top of fighting Kunou, it was made harder because Ranma was home 
sick. She lost her lunch in one of her classes and didn't have any money. And 
at P.E. she got a face full of mud. Her very good friend from school, Minoka 
Lisa, broke her arm because she tripped over Akane's books. Of, course she 
wasn't too mad. But Akane still made her way to the Dojo with only minor 
injuries from the day. 
 
"Oh my!" Kasumi said as she saw Akane. "What happened?" Akane only groaned 
back to her. Akane’s face looked cross. "Yo Akane!" Ranma said followed by a 
sneeze as he entered the room. Akane's face eased up. She still didn't 
talk, but sighed instead. 
 
She made her way to the couch near where Ranma was sitting and turned on the 
TV. The room filled with the light of the TV and one of Akane's favorite 
old TV shows came to the screen. There were three people on the screen at the 
beach and a catchy theme in the back. "Come and Knock on our door Come and 
Knock on our door, we'll be waiting for you we'll be waiting for you, where 
the kisses are hers and hers and his three's company too! Where life is a 
ball again, so come and join us too, Three's Company too!" Sometime between 
the end and the beginning of the theme song Akane drifted off. 
 
~scene fades~
We see Akane coming into a small apartment where Ranma and Minoka-San are 
sitting on the couch. 
"Hey Ranma, Hey Minoka-San! What are you two doing here?" Akane asked. 
"We live here silly! All three of us." Ranma replied as if Akane is from 
another dimension.
"We do?" Akane said specie.
"Well, I sure hope so. We pay the rent every month!" Minoka said with an 
added snort/laugh. 
"Girls?" A voice called from outside.
"Oh no it's Mr. Roper!" Ranma said as he dunked him self with water. "Come 
in!" 
"Oh, I thought I heard a man out here." Mr. Roper said.
"No, just us girls!" Minoka said. Then Akane heard a voice in the background 
going "Three's Company Too!" 
 
~scene goes back to Ranma~
"Akane, Akane!" Ranma said trying to wake her.
"NOOO!!!!!!" Is all that was Akane’s response as she woke up with a jolt. 
"Ranma, where'd Minoka-san and Mr. Roper go?" 
"Um, Akane are you okay? Who's Mr. Roper? Have you been watching those 
Three's Company marathons again?"
"Oh, nevermind just a bad dream."
"Okay then," Ranma said "You sure are cute when ya sleep." Ranma added with a 
grin. Akane blushed slightly at that remark. Ranma sat down next to her and 
put a blanket over them. She leaned on his shoulder and they watched TV 
together. 
 
It rained hat night in Nerima. And it rained the next day too. Akane was very 
happy that it was a Saturday and there was no school. After it cleared up 
Akane decided to go for a walk to the park.
"Anybody want to come with me?" Akane asked as she started out the door. 
Ranma stood up and said that he would go. Akane was happy that he decided to 
come with her, but she didn't show it. It was a typical walk, Ranma on the 
fence and Akane on the side walk. 
"Ranma," Akane asked, "Why do you always walk on the fence? There is a river 
right there and you could fall in." 
"I dunno." Ranma said, "Why the sudden interest?" Akane didn't say anything. 
So Ranma jumped off and joined her on the sidewalk. They went the rest of the 
way to the park in silence. When they got there they sat on a bench near a 
pond. And they fed the ducks.
"Isn't that Mousse?" Akane asked Ranma.
"That is! What the hell is Mousse doing in a duck pond? Weird."
"Probably got tired of Shampoo starving him." 
"Akane." 
"Yes Ranma what is it?"
"Well ya see, um..."
"What is it?" 
Ranma started twit tiling his thumbs. "Hold on a second. Geeze." Long pause. 
"Akane, this is kinda hard to say, but I really care about you. I never 
really know how to tell you and with our noisy fathers always around then I 
guess..." his voice trailed off. 
"Oh Ranma, I guess I really care about you too." And she grabbed his face and 
kissed him. Mousse covered his face with his wings and flew away.
