Engineering is responsible for the ship’s drive systems, computer systems, repair systems, maintenance systems, damage control, environmental systems, transporters, sensor systems, and all other miscellaneous ship’s systems.
DUTY POSITIONS FOR COMMISSIONED PERSONNEL
CEO-CHIEF ENGINEERING OFFICER: This is the ENGINEERING department Chief. He/She is responsible for the operations of this department and all personnel therein. The CE is part of the Command Staff and answers to the CO and XO.
ACE-ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER: This is the CE's assistant. Usually, there are several ACE'S as needed by the CE, due to the sometimes complex operations of Engineering.
ENG-ENGINEER: This is a general Engineer who heads and supervises tasks or duties as assigned by the CE or ACE, and acts as their assistant.
CWD-CHIEF WARP DRIVE ENGINEER: Engineering officer who specialty is warp engines maintenance, repair and operations.
MAM-CHIEF MATTER/ANTI-MATTER ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty is Matter/Anti-Matter control.
CIM-CHIEF IMPULSE ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty is Impulse Engines maintenance, repair, and operations.
CTE-CHIEF TRANSPORTER ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty is the Transporter Systems maintenance, repair, and operations.
CEF-CHIEF ENERGY FIELD ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty is Energy Fields.
CPP-CHIEF PHASER/PHOTON ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty is the Phaser/Photon Weapons Systems maintenance, repair, and operations.
CSH-CHIEF SUPERSTRUCTURE/HULL ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty is the maintenance, and repair of the ship's hull.
CE-CHIEF ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER: An Engineering Officer whose specialty includes environmental engineering, repair, and maintenance.
CCS-CHIEF COMPUTER SYSTEMS OFFICER: Engineering officer in charge of the ship's computers systems operation, maintenance, and upgrade.
CDC-CHIEF DAMAGE CONTROL OFFICER: The CDC is responsible for ship's damage control, emergency or battle damage repair.
ASE-AUXILIARY SYSTEMS ENGINEER: An Engineering Officer who's specialty are the Auxiliary Systems.
FRO-FABRICATION AND REPLICATION OFFICER: Engineering Officer in charge of fabrication and replication facilities.
SSE-SHIP'S SYSTEMS ENGINEER: The SEE oversees power management and delivery systems for the ship.
TSO-TECHNICAL SERVICES OFFICER: The TSO provides technical service for Engineering and other departments as needed. This primarily includes designing tools and equipment to be fabricated, or any object that is to be fabricated or constructed.
DUTY POSITIONS FOR ENLISTED PERSONNEL
E/EM-ENGINEERING MATE: The most senior Engineering Enlisted specialist. He/She is the most knowledgeable of the Engineering sub-systems and minor systems. The EM is responsible for all Enlisted personnel in Engineering and answers to the CE, and ACE.
E/WDM-WARP DRIVE MATE: Assists the CWD.
E/MAM- MATTER/ANTI-MATTER MATE: Assists the MAM.
E/IPM-IMPULSE SYSTEMS MATE: Assists the CIE.
E/TM-TRANSPORTERS MATE: Assists the CTE.
E/EFM-ENERGY FIELD MATE: Assists the CEF.
E/SHM-SUPERSTRUCTURE/HULL MATE: Assists the CSH.
E/AXM-AUXILIARY SYSTEMS MATE: Assists the ASE.
E/SSM-SHIP'S SYSTEMS MATE: Assists the SSE.
E/FRM-FABRICATION REPLICATION MATE:Assists the FRO.
E/CTM-COMPUTERS TECHNOLOGY MATE: Assists the CCS.
E/EAT-ENGINEERING ASSISTANT: Junior Engineering Assistant assists any engineer or mate in systems maintenance and repair.
Shown here is the Engineering Department Roster. Without these dedicated members, the department and ship as a whole would not be able to function at all.
