The Services Department is in charge of crew leisure and recreation activities as well as crew services.
DUTY POSITIONS FOR COMMISSIONED PERSONNEL
CSER-Chief Services Officer: This is the Services Department Head. He/she is responsible for the operations of this department and all personnel herein. The CSER must be able to take over for any crew member in the department. The CSER is a member of the Command Staff and answers to the XO.
ASER-Assistant Services Officer: This is the CSER’s assistant. He/she usually handles activities directly, where as the CSER usually handles administrative duties for the department.
SER-Services Officer: This is a general services officer who aids the department where ever needed and serves as the departmental duty officer.
CRSO-Chief Recreation Services Officer: This is the division chief of the Recreation Services Division and is in charge of all crew recreation and activities on the ship.
RSO-Recreational Officer: A junior recreational services officer.
CQMSO-Chief Quarter Master Services Officer: This is the division chief of the Quarter Master Services Division and is in charge of the ship’s stores.
QMSO-Quarter Master Services Officer: A junior quarter master services officer.
CFSO-Chief Food Services Officer: This is the division chief of the Food Services Division and is in charge of the ship’s food systems.
FSO-Food Services Officer: A junior food services officer.
CMSO-Chief Morale Services Officer: This is the division chief of the Personnel Services Division and is in charge of crew oriantation and morale.
MSO-Morale Services Officer: A junior personnel services officer.
DUTY POSITIONS FOR WARRANT OFFICERS
W/SER-Services Specialist: The senior most Warrant Officer in the Services Department.
W/RSS-Recreation Services Specialist: Recreation systems specialist.
W/QMSS-Quarter Master Services Specialist: Store’s inventory specialist.
W/FSS-Food Services Specialist: Mess hall and food replicator specialist.
W/PSS-Personnel Services Specialist: Personnel services systems specialist.
DUTY POSITIONS FOR ENLISTED PERSONNEL
E/SER-Services Mate: The seniormost enlisted member of the Services Department.
E/REC-Recreation Mate: Recreation systems operator.
E/QM-Quarter Master Mate: Store keeper.
E/FOOD-Food Mate: Mess cook and food replicator technician.
E/PER-Personnel Mate: Personnel berthing and orientator.
