"Black and White"

This tile was originally supposed to be in color, showing the color red of the Nazi flag as a background for this scene. Since red just wasn't available I decided to go with black and white.

The scene here is a death camp with a burning smoke stack and the phrase "death" embedded in the smoke. The swastika is partially exposed but I wanted the smoke, the phrase "death," and the swastika to be inseparable to the onlooker, because to me they are. I just gave it the simple name "Black and White" not only because there is no color, but I think that while we can hypothesize and analyze, come up with intellectual questions and answers, the heart of the matter is that the Holocaust was mass murder. It was Evil. It was Wrong.
