History
Hands-On Goalkeeping School began in August 1997 in Blacksburg,
VA with a class of 6 keepers. It was held at Nellies Cave Park in
Blacksburg. A
very successful camp but due to no housing the format was changed from a
week long to a one day in able to attract more keepers from out of town.
Traditionally, Hands-On Goalkeeping School was conducted once in the
summer and once in February. The camp has grown quite a bit since that
first year. In February 2003, over 60 keepers attended the camp from
all over the East Coast.
We have been blessed with excellent staffs over the years. Stevie Reynolds
has been an assistant camp director since 1998. We have several former
campers that are now staff members. This year we have quite a few goalkeepers
from Division I Virginia Tech and Radford University as well as Roanoke College.
