Our Cross

Matthew 16:24-25
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

You put up a good fight. You felt like you were one fighting against a multitude. Like fighting against the tide or against the changing seasons. Life never stays the same. We are continually learning and changing. Do you feel weary and heavy from the fight? Give it to Him. So you feel like you lost the battle and your wounds are deep. You feel a gash in your heart. The Lord understands. He felt that same gash when He was rejected and scorned and hung on that cross He didn't deserve, but it never ends there. He is a God of resurection, a God of the living and not the dead, a God of life more abundantly. He knows what you need better than you know yourself. He will never leave you comfortless nor will He ever leave you hanging on a cross that we all deserve. He always gets you down. How else could we pick it up?

Praise You Lord Jesus!
